Punta de la Mona, La Herradura, Granada, Spain
Meaning 'horse shoe', it is a seaside town with a 2km beach with several water sports and boating companies and many cafes and restaurants.
There are two headlands:
Punta de la Mona - with its own light house and near the Marina de Este.
Cerre Gordo - which has a watch tower and and an indigenous nature reserve: Maro–Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Park
There is a castle finished in 1768, set back and towards the Cerre Gordo end of the beach.
Whilst this beautiful marina is small, it is a luxuary complex. It has a good selection of shops, restaurants and water related businesses and is also next to a small beach, with its own facilitites: Playa Berengueles.
Built around the Penon de las Caballas rock and prominade, it is one to visit.
This sea front city offers everything you might expect from a small city, in addition to the usual seaside facilities.
With plenty of history and meandering streets to explore, take some time to visit the Old Town, Castle, Royal Fountain, Acquduct and Churches.
